When I watched the following video, I totally understood WHY I was in love with Turbo and Ozone from the Breakin’ movies. They straight stole all these moves from MJ! Did Rerun do it first, or MJ? I don’t know. But this robot by Mike definitely seems like the precursor to the Moonwalk. Oh BTW, every monday will now officially be “Michael Mondays” and I will post something interesting about the King of Pop that is not common knowledge or that is particularly interesting. MMs GO!!!!!!

Earnest – You are absolutely right! Street dancers like The Lockers were doing all the moves first. Shabbo-Doo, of Breakin’, was in The Lockers. Michael even admitted to stealing his moves from stuff he saw other kids doing. I clearly state in the post that “I don’t know” who did the move first – this led me on a quest to try and figure it out – and I now have some answers. Another thing:I was born in the 80′s, so it is very likely I was exposed to Michael Jackson before I was allowed to watch Breakin’ on Cinemax. Thus, it may have been my perception at the time that the characters in Breakin’ were stealing from Michael.

Hi Randi,I just stumbled across your comments and for the record,Jeffrey Daniels worked with Michael Jackson on the backslide which he performed on Motown 25th.Myself and Bruno Falcon worked with him right after and we both had different styles.Michael was a great dancer and learned from people he respected and you can see those styles in his solos and group routines. Before the film Breakin,Bruno Falcon and I were working with Lionel Ritchie. It was awesome to see how Michael put what he had learned from each of us into his solo.Just look at the progress from 1983 till 1991 and you will see.I am Michael Boogaloo Shrimp Chambers.
